Head of Sales (m/f)

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and mentor a team of Sales Managers, Partner Managers and Sales Support staff with the purpose of generating sizeable and profitable net revenue growth
  • Enhance current sales organization to ensure high-performance is achieved
  • Lead team and drive prospecting efforts and sales 
  • Identifying, developing and closing sales through prospecting and activity and fully understanding the business key needs, customer decision cycle, and decision-making process of the customer
  • Initiation and delivery of sales projects across the German Sales team and also ensuring through attendance on internal project boards that the needs of the customer and sales team are met
  • Achieve set monthly targets in respect of KPI`s (net revenue, bank referrals)
  • Enable communication within the business
  • You are responsible for evaluating and closing leads (also from the bank partners)
  • Provide accurate detailed monthly and quarterly forecast and ensure information on CRM is updated daily
  • Sell enterprise wide portfolio of products and services
  • Maintain a high awareness and knowledge of the payment market, card payment industry, competitors and internal activities to ensure that all business opportunities are identified, considered and closed appropriately
  • Interface with other internal departments (e.g. Credit &Risk, product management, Operations) as required to ensure that customer opportunities are managed quickly and effectively through the sales funnel
  • Maintain professional customer liaison and ensure the ethics and sales process are maintained
  • Operationalize established sales processes and tools that are adhere to global standards, whilst fine-tuning based on market needs
  • Ensure established revenue and EBITDA targets are achieved based on established objectives and forecast
  • Manage established budget effectively

Key Experience and Skills

  • Leadership & mentoring to build a high-performing sales organization
  • Minimum of 5+ years leading teams
  • 5+ years of proven results in B2B executive-level sales
  • Significant experience selling to Corporates and selling to C-suite
  • Strong understanding and experience in commercial payments, especially acquiring
  • Ability to work independently and assume ownership of a Sales strategy
  • Savvy with financial model modelling and business case preparation
  • Technology savvy with experience using CRM tools
  • Demonstrable over-achievement against target experience in a direct sales technology based business-to-business marketplace in a role that is primarily focused on new business acquisition
  • Specialist knowledge of the Acquiring market is a must
  • Primary understanding of engaging large corporate, and apply complex sales methodology
  • Direct experience of following a competency based framework model to develop sales practices.
  • Proven ability to develop and maintain an effective network of contacts and build relationships at all levels of the company, Bank partners and externally
  • Broad commercial and financial acumen and awareness of issues involved in negotiating contracts and has ability to negotiate logically and constructively
  • Excellent communication skills in German and English (both verbal and written)
  • An influential and highly effective communicator (verbal/non-verbal/written)
  • A team player able to work and support colleagues across a multinational organization
  • A willingness to accept change and the ability to maintain effectiveness in a changing environment with ability to “see the bigger picture”
